If connectivity issues are all too common in different areas of your home, you may have a wireless Internet problem. And we all know that now is not the time for problems with the Internet.

What's the Wi-Fi Extender?

It's a separate device that sits between your wireless router and the areas where you want more Wi-Fi coverage.

How are Wi-Fi extenders working?

Extender provides you a wider range of wireless internet across your entire household or workplace.

The biggest challenge is to find the right location for your Wi-Fi extender. It needs to be close enough to your router to get the signal, but far enough away that it can re-broadcast the signal to the room or area where you need stronger home Wi-Fi.

What is the difference between a Wi-Fi extender, a Wi-Fi repeater, and a Wi-Fi booster?

You may also see devices that are marketed as "Wi-Fi repeaters" or "Wi-Fi boosters." Essentially, they're the same — they're all working to strengthen and increase the range of your wireless signal. They do, however, work in slightly different ways.

Wi-Fi Extender – This device works by capturing the existing wireless signal and then rebroadcasting it to another channel. Since it can be connected to your modem and router via a coaxial cable or an Ethernet cord, there is a lower chance of interference. This means that you will have a strong Wi-Fi connexion in other areas of your home.

Wi-Fi Repeater – These first-generation extenders work the same way by capturing and rebroadcasting the existing signal. However, since it connects to your router wirelessly at the same frequency, you will only get half of the bandwidth available, resulting in higher latency.

Wi-Fi booster – that's just another name for all Wi-Fi extenders and Wi-Fi repeaters.

Another option is a Wi-Fi mesh that uses multiple, smaller routers to create a network of wireless signals around your home.

Do Wi-Fi extenders work for you?

The efficiency of your Wi-Fi extender depends on the location of your device and the reliability of your internet connexion.

Many Internet users have found Wi-Fi extenders to be a great solution to make their connexion more reliable and help them change the scenery when working from home becomes monotonous.
